THIS MONTH SURE HAS PAST QUICKLY! I RECENTLY PREVIEWED THE CONDO BUILDING ABOVE, AND WITH A LITTLE LUCK, I'LL BE MOVING-IN SEPT OF THIS YEAR. MY UNIT WILL FACE WESTERLY, BUT NO GUARANTEES ON THE VIEW. ANOTHER BUILDGING IS SCHEDULED TO BE BUILT IN THE PARKING AREA OF THE BUSINESS NEXT DOOR. AS THE REAL ESTATE SAYING GOES; "LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION", EACH RISE IN FLOOR LEVEL ADDS ABOUT 15k TO THE ASKING PRICE!
Except for stint living in Phoenix almost a decade ago, I've always lived mostly in the "burbs". Life is nice there, but boring and the predictable. The amenities of chain-stores and chain-restaurants always close too early. After 9pm, good luck at finding much outside social stimulation with variety! Since I moved here, I've been doing the reverse commute. (Although here, many do reverse commutes of city>suburb) I'm lucky with my schedule that I miss the commute-crush and if I feel like going out when I get home, I can find good eating. I could eat at a restaurant everyday and never cover the selection and variety city-life offers. Sure, sometimes traffic is awful, but living here, one learns very quickly the times/patterns of traffic and where to avoid. And here, the bus service is excellent. Unlike the suburbs where it's easy to feel stranded and service sometimes sporactic, if I had to, I could run all my errands utilizing public transportation without feeling inconvenienced and adding little extra time compare to driving. I plan on staying awhile. Seattle is very livable for city-life!
